You are a student. In fact, you've been a student for a long time. So you must have good ideas about how education can be improved. That can be all kinds of education. Higher education, practical education, primary education or even sports training. Do you also think technology is interesting and do you have ideas to use technology to make education better and more exciting (and especially more fun)?
Then this minor is really something for you.
And, you don't have to be technical. In the past we've had all kinds of students. Some built the most amazing technological solutions and some did a lot of research and produced elaborate mock-up designs.
And, even better, if you are the enterpreneurial type, we offer you the opportunity to use your ideas as the basis for your (own) startup. You probably know better how to improve education than teachers, educational developers and policy makers. Yes, right? So register quickly for this minor.
Curious about a project within the EdTech minor? Then take a look at this video.
“Students often have great ideas about how education can be improved. Technology is advancing fast and offering more and more possibilities. Bringing those together breeds exciting new technology for educational experiences that are better and more fun! However a lot of opportunities are lost. Startups are not there or struggling. So there is plenty of room to make new exciting technology available in an educational context. Grab this one!" Rens van der Vorst - Minor Coordinator
In this minor you will learn about the latest technological developments. We prepare you for the challenges of the ever-changing world of technology-based learning, teaching and training. During the pandemic we saw how important that is. Technology enabled much education to continue, but it also increased inequality and often made education less fun. That should be better! You can contribute to that.
The minor is conducted in building TQ in Eindhoven according to the principle of open learning. The approach is practical, project-based, flexible and with real stakeholders. You decide what you want to learn and we help you achieve it.
In this minor you are in the driver's seat. A diverse team of lecturers will guide you and you will receive a large number of real life cases, guest lectures and inspiring teaching methods. The minor makes use of the Partners in Innovation and Education and other relevant players in the field. During the minor, we therefore always respond to the demand from practice.
Topics covered include, for example:
In addition, the minor extensively discusses learning to think about the impact of technology. You learn to think much better about the question: when will technology make the world (and education) better? And, perhaps more importantly, what do we mean by better?
In the EdTech minor, students from diverse backgrounds work together and learn from each other. Guest speakers are the rule rather than the exception. As a student you work with practical examples of startups and other major players from the Ed Tech world. We also expect you to look outside the walls of the program at events or conferences. Of course we help you with that.
In the minor you are invited to develop your entrepreneurial qualities, take initiatives and bring about changes that create value for education. That sounds like quite a challenge, but it's also a lot of fun, because don't forget: you are the expert! You are the student! Who knows better what education needs than you? Nobody, right?
